Today, I set out to finish picking up litter along the road, where I ran out of bags earlier this week. I only had a few hundred feet left to clean and thought four bags would be plenty... I was wrong 😪
I filled six bags of the most disgusting, foul-smelling litter I've ever seen. Bags of leftover lunches and rotting food were left on the side of the road. Seeing how much trash people have carelessly tossed out of their cars is heartbreaking.
Consider this litter's impact on our environment, wildlife, and community, including its potential to attract animals to the side of the road and create hazardous conditions for drivers.
I am proud to have founded LitterPic, a nonprofit organization that fights for a healthier planet. At LitterPic.com, you can share inspirational photos and stories about litter collection and environmental activism. We can make a difference and create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable planet.
We have a "No littering" sign at the end of the road, which lists a 100-dollar fine for littering, but the sign doesn't seem to have any impact. We need real action and holding people accountable if caught littering. We can all make a difference by taking responsibility for our actions and doing our part to protect the environment.
